Kayaking on the Kleine Nete
The Kleine Nete is one of the cleanest rivers in Flanders, and you notice it the moment your paddle touches the water. Between Kasterlee and Grobbendonk it winds through meadows, marsh woods and quiet nature reserves where all you hear is the water and the birds.
You don’t need to be an experienced kayaker: the current does most of the work, and there are landing spots along the way for a break. Several rental companies in the area put you on the water, kayak and all, and pick you up downstream. Count on two to four hours of paddling fun, depending on the route you choose.
A swimming break, a picnic on the bank and guaranteed wet feet: kayaking on the Kleine Nete is the Kempen summer at its best.
